About CalorieMath
Why CalorieMath exists
Most people who search for a calorie calculator do not need another diet plan. They need four numbers — how much to eat, whether their weight band is healthy, how much protein is enough, and how much water to drink — explained plainly enough to act on the same day.
CalorieMath gives you those four numbers with free calculators, and then does the part most calculator sites skip: it shows its working. Every formula we use is published on our methodology page, every guide states its figures the same way the tools compute them, and every result carries the same honest label: an estimate, not a verdict.
How we work
- Formulas first. We use published, checkable equations — Mifflin–St Jeor for calories, the WHO bands for BMI, research ranges for protein — not proprietary scores.
- Reviewed by a human. Every page and guide is read and checked by our editor before it goes live, and the worked examples are recomputed by hand.
- Corrections in the open. If a figure or formula on this site turns out to be wrong, we fix the page and note the change. Tell us if you spot something: contact us.
Who runs it
CalorieMath is written and edited by Emma Collins, CalorieMath Editor, and published by the CalorieMath desk — a small independent team. We are not doctors, dietitians or a clinic, and the site is not a substitute for one: please read the disclaimer before acting on any number here.
